The translation of legal documents is always complex and requires a deep knowledge, not only linguistic but also legal. We translate into English and Spanish any type of legal documents, that is, the ones of a legal nature, such as legal rulings (judgements, court orders, etc.), lawsuits, deeds, affidavits, appeals, contracts, powers of attorney, among others.
There are differences between legal and sworn translation. Whereas the former only refers to the nature of the document, the latter must necessarily include the signature and stamp of the Sworn Translator of English who translated the text. Even though any translator who is an expert in the field and has a deep knowledge of the legal terminology is able to translate legal documents, in most cases a sworn translation is required, considering that the translated document shall take legal effects in the country of destination and this official nature can only be granted by Sworn Translators.
